Kevin and I met over 3 1/2 years ago at a wedding. Kevin was one of the best men and I was in the Bridal party. When we took this picture, we had no idea that we would be planning a wedding of our own:
(Gosh we were so young...or so it seems).
As Kevin was currently going to school in Denver, we spoke on the phone often and facebooked each other frequently. He came home for summer break in June of 2008...our summer of love:
Magic Mountain
Fire pit night at the Riggins' house
July 18, 2008- The night he asked me to be his Girlfriend (at a wedding)
The OC fair
Meet the family at a Liebel wedding Aug 08
After our Summer of love, it was time for a talk. We decided that long distance is hard, but we were both willing to put in the time and effort because we found something very special. We also knew a couple that had been through it and were nothing but supportive of us:
So, after two long years of long distance which consisted of hours of telephone time a day, 16 trips to Denver made by Stephanie, holidays, vacations and so much more..... Kevin moved back to California. Our long distance relationship became a short distance one. We were so excited for this new phase of our relationship.
Kevin was home for three weeks when it was time for us to head to Europe. It was a year in the making, and we were ready for our three week back-packing trip through Germany, Italy and France. We had planned, we had packed and we were there. There is too much about that trip to go into, but one day stands out in particular. July 13, 20100 Riomaggiore, Italy:
We decided that it would be the perfect night to watch the sun set over the water. We walked up a hill to an area that we hadn't been yet and came across the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing evening. This spot was made for us...
Our View:After the picture above, Kevin got down on one knee, and after saying the sweetest most amazing things anyone has ever said to me, asked me to be his wife. I said yes, with tears of happiness in my eyes and kissed the man who was now my future husband. We watched the rest of the sunset before making calls to home.
And there you have it. Boy and girl meet, boy and girl date, boy and girl get engaged.... boy and girl to be married (very very soon). This will be the blogging site for family and friends to visit and be a part of our lives....
