Showered with Love

As the wedding is approaching, I have been so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to celebrate this time with. I have been so lucky to have had three bridal showers.

The first shower was held in July (as many of Kevin's out of town family, were in town for vacation). It was hosted by my future mother-in-law Liz, and future sisters-in-law Erin and Kelly. It was held at his Aunt Donna's new home, which had the perfect backyard for a party. It was fiesta themed with many colorful decorations and my favorite El Pollo Loco for lunch. It was so nice to be able to bond with Kevin's family as they welcomed me into their family.
We had a "crazy hat" contest to help break the ice. Lillian won for her creative use of a chefs hat.

With sister-in-law Jayme and Mother of the bride.

With future sisters-in-law/hostesses Kelly and Erin (Liz some how managed to avoid the camera during the festivities).

Another game was for me to break open a pinata. Inside I found lots of small kitchen utensils, cookie cutters, and fun little items to make the kitchen more girly.

It was an afternoon filled with fun and laughs. Kevin even participated in a game of "What would Kevin say?" For every answer I got wrong, a large piece of bubble gum was given to me to chew. Luckily I didn't do too bad, but I definitely had more gum in my mouth than I would have preferred :)

Next shower was the "Liebel Ladies" shower hosted on the first weekend of September by Aunt Val, Aunt Barbara, and maid of honor (cousin) Laura. Now keep in mind that I have been to Aunt Barbara's house on many different occasions and for many different guests of honor, but when I walked in, it took my breath away. Everything was decorated so beautifully and the display of home made food and treats was mouthwatering. I couldn't believe all of the work that went in it for me. The following pictures are courtesy of Auntie Enalyn, who can always be counted on for getting pictures up on facebook the same day they took place :)

The amazing spread.

Always need a mom shot.

With the lovely hostesses.

It is always fun when we get the Liebel ladies together and this was no exception. With the games, food and fun conversations, it is a time and shower that I will never forget.

Then it was time for the work shower- Sunday Brunch at the Reef (waterfront restaurant in Long Beach). When I walked in, the tables were decorated with mini tiaras for the ladies and a crown for me that said "Princess"-- how appropriate? :) There were bracelets and big rings for us all to wear as well. We had a big RSVP list however, there was a Saturday night birthday party for a co-worker and let's just say that a lot of people were not feeling so hot come Sunday morning. It didn't matter to me though because we had so much fun with our little group and the champagne lasted much longer :)  I love my work ladies and was so happy that they chose to join in the fun of wedding festivities.
Did I forget to mention that there was also a pink boa involved?

The lovely ladies :)

I cannot say enough about all of the people who have made this time so special. I knew that being a bride was an experience that people have a hard time putting into words and now I understand why. It is absolutely incredible the amount of love that surrounds me on a daily basis-- kinda one of those things you take for granted. These showers in particular have made me so grateful to all of my family and friends who have gone out of their ways to celebrate with me. This is a time in my life I will never forget and it is thanks to you all.
